The following questions/answers represent some of the more frequently asked questions about e-Channel. If you have questions that are not covered within this document please contact tina@contactnorth.ca for more information.

What is “e-Channel”?
e-Channel is the online classroom and meeting space for students, teachers, coaches, trainers and leaders of adult literacy. Your online class will allow you to hear and interact with the instructor and other students/participants using a computer at one of our access centres or the convenience of your own home.


What types of classes are available?
There are a wide range of basic classes including: Math, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Algebra, Using MS Word, etc.


When and how do I register?
Registration dates vary depending on the organization offering the course. To register follow the registration details provided by the organization offering the course and listed with course details
 

1.    Call or email the organization offering the course.

2.    Indicate the course you want to enrol in.

3.    Complete the registration process with the offering organization.

Do I need special training to take this course online?
The e-Channel platform is very user friendly. An online tutorial, quick reference information, online guide as well as staff support at each of the Contact North
Access Centres is available to assist all students.

How do I take a course with e-Channel?
Note:
A computer with Internet access is required to attend your class.

1.    Register for the course.

2.    When registration is completed times and dates of the course is provided to you.

3.    At the scheduled times and dates you attend the class by using a computer you have access to; a literacy organizations computer; or by making arrangements to go to a Contact North Access Centres .

What does it cost to take a course?
There is no fee/cost for a learner to take e-Channel courses.
